For example in 1948 even Ronald Reagan participated in the Chesterfield cigarettes advertising campaign. The brand sponsored many TV programs and baseball competitions.

In April 2009 the traditional design of Chesterfield packs as well as cigarette names underwent some changes.

- Chesterfield Lights - to Chesterfield Classic Blue (6 mg/0.5 mg)

- Chesterfield Ultra Lights - to Chesterfield Classic Bronze (4 mg/0.4 mg)

- And another variety called Chesterfield Green (Menthol) appeared.
